Youth Filmmaking Camps

Award-winning director and film professor, Mike Akel will guide students through every aspect of filmmaking! From idea to screenwriting, acting, planning, production and post-production, campers will experience every step needed to create a short film. Students will receive a link to their group’s final film.
Curriculum will include:
- Developing a short film script
- Basic Acting with improv games
- How to use camera and microphones
- Pre-production, rehearsals, crew roles, etc.
- On set film production for a short film
- The class will conclude with a screening of their movie trailer and the full film link will be sent later.
No previous filmmaking experience is required.
Camps will be organized by age groups (Ages 9-13 and 14-18). Classes are limited to 12 students to provide a lot of hands-on experience and individualized attention. The camp spaces will be filled on a first-come first-served basis.
All camps are designed with hands-on education that encourages teamwork and collaboration.
